I Want to Smell The Perfume is a social enterprise…
… which focusing on women empowerment and environmental issues. The name itself rose from life experiences of our founder, Wilma Empalmado Dadivas. It was a strong dream to encourage vulnerable women all over the world to take their opportunity and break free from inequalities.
Our main goals are to assist disadvantaged women to get skill training, continuous job opportunities and income, without having to leave their family care-taking duties. The next goals will be to reduce the excessive usage of single use plastic bags and marine debris especially derelict fishing nets, which is one of the most damaging debris to our marine ecosystem.
Our MOC groups were humbly started by a small group of 8 women in Desa Pasir Angin, Bogor and now they have been expanded through few areas like Jakarta (Tugu Selatan and Cawang), Bekasi (Bantar Gebang), Bogor (Pasir Angin), Bitung and Manado. Total of active women joining us today is 155 people. We are also aiming for further expansion, in 2019 we are starting to work with more people in several locations like Marunda and Bojong in Bekasi, also Bogor together with Yayasan Alang-Alang. Our existing MOCs are still growing too with additional members each time.
The expansion of existing and trained MOCs are being done independently by themselves, as we are using “spiderweb system” for training method. This system encourages the women to recruit and train the new ones.
