Anita Tri Indarwati, a member of MOC BMB (Bintang Mandiri Bersaudara) which is still a part of MOC Bitung, is really excited to share her story to the team of I Want to Smell the Perfume (IWTSTP) about her experiences and emotions while she joined this community for the first time in 2019. When the first time IWTSTP built the new MOC in Bitung, she also join as volunteer to help with the training.
Her journey with this community was initiated from her motivation to join a particular club in order to get in touch with the local people in Bitung. She admitted that moving from Surabaya to Bitung was challenging. Beside she has to be adaptive, finding a place where she could share and be more active becomes her goal.

Self actualisation - the first word that Anita used to describe the positive impact of this female community. Other than that, she also earns some additional money through this activity, knitting, but it’s not her main motivation to get involved in this community. What encourages her to stay with MOC BMB is because she wants to share her competences and passions to do something more for her environment and other females.
At the end, she hopes that together with IWTSTP, she could recruit more women to join or create a new MOC. “Frankly speaking, I really want to get in touch and persuade other women living nearby the coastal area because what we have now is only nearby the city. So, they could upcycle the wasted fishing nets nearby their houses or even those owned by their husbands whose jobs are fishermen. Like this, we could start to introduce them to environmental issues.”
