Collaborating with several partners and our Micro Organic Community (MOC) women, we are designing and producing beautiful, fashionable and cherishable products from filament made of recycled PET (Polyethylene) bottles.
VISION
BOTTLE2BOTTLE BAG carries a vision to reinvent PET bottle recycled products with stylish design, excellent hand workmanship for international and local marketing range in tandem with environmental and social positive impacts.
MISSION
- To reinvent work for Indonesian waste-pickers specifically in Jakarta while simultaneously creating job opportunities for local MOC.
- To increase local PET bottle up-cycling rate which is still very low (less than 10% for general plastic waste)
- To add value to the PET bottle waste (made into versatile, colourful filaments and turned into beautiful fashion items.
- To develop market segmentation for the end products, thus establish more opportunities to our partners.
- To commit to the circular economy system by turning waste into commercial high-end products.
PET IN INDONESIA
Worldwide consumption of Polyethylene (PET) plastic bottle: 480 bottles in 2016. One million plastic bottles are sold every minute. By 2021, number of sold plastic bottle yearly will increase to 583,3 billion. (Euromonitor International).
PRODUCT: FRIDA BAG
Frida bag is our contribution to SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth by combining the typical local artwork of artisans in Indonesia: Tas Jali + Rattan handles.
Many artisans are affected economically during the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope to be able to help with Frida bag production.
An all-purpose bag that can be used for work (larger size can hold a laptop and a packed lunch), great for shopping, excursions and weatherproof.
